Fundy Coast - Hopewell Rocks
On our only full day to tour we headed east from Saint John along the highway to near Sussex and then back to the Fundy Coast. We started in Fundy Park, took a walk aroung a peat bog, and then to Alma for lunch. We went back into Fundy Park after lunch to Point Wolfe (covered bridge shots) and spent an hour along the beach. Our (my) ultimate goal was to get to Hopewell Rocks for low tide (7 p.m. that day) which just happened to correspond to sunset! So we drove the coastal roadway from Alma to Hopewell, stopping at Cape Enrage for the lighthouse shots. Spectacular scenery along the way, only to be capped with some very special light at Hopewell. I cannot resist sunset silhouettes. The icing on the day was emerging from the coast to be greeted by a rising moon over the water and shore of Nova Scotia! It was a great day for photography, despite the unhappy teenagers in tow.
